01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Stepping up to the counter at Kamiya, the gentle aroma of steaming broth immediately draws you in. Leaning towards a Kansai-style palate with prominent kombu dashi, the light soup pairs naturally with noodles that have just the right amount of chew. The menu offers options for every craving, from kitsune with sweet-and-savory braised fried tofu to torinegi combining chicken and green onion, alongside soba, flat kishimen, and split aimori platters.

For a heartier meal, combo sets pairing udon or soba with a mini rice bowl are a dependable pick. The popular kakiage tempura fritter features a light, crispy batter studded with succulent prawns and scallops, matching nicely with sweet soy sauce over rice. Other mini bowls include fried chicken, oyako-don, and the classic curry bowl typical of traditional noodle shops.

In the evening, the counter becomes an easy spot for a drink and small bites before finishing with a bowl of noodles. Guests can sip beer or chuhai alongside wakame seaweed in vinegar, onsen tamago, agedashi tofu, and fried chicken. Open for lunch and operating late until 24:30 at night, the shop accepts cash only.
